From a very early age, Leslie has always had an interest in
photography and people. With the first instamatic Kodak camera with
friends and family, to the high school yearbook photographing the
schools' clubs and classmates, to technical and commercial training at
the University and finally wedding photography. Beginning in 1977 as a
wedding trainee for a studio that profited on the volume of weddings
and the number of pictures one can take and then branching out on her
own in 1980 with over 1,000 weddings behind her, she felt like she had
a strong foundation of "people photography". She has spent the last 24
years building on that foundation by listening to what the customer
requests and by continuing her education.
Leslie has advanced into the "digital" age as it is a smarter way to
provide the Bride and Groom and their family and friends with a
greater number of pictures, styles and special effects with very
little increase in delivery time and price. Photographing the event
digitally allows her to produce simple alterations such as cropping
and
color enhancement, to converting color photos to black and white,
sepia tone, and creating special effects after the fact whereas it all
had to be done at the time of the event. It also allows for the
production of CDs of the event as well as online viewing, enabling the
Bride and Groom to view the event and share it with many
others easily.
If Leslie has a style, it is as traditional wedding photographer.
She believes in those traditional photographs (the bride and groom,
the bride and the bridesmaids, etc.) are very important! But what
makes her different is she goes looking for pictures with ALL the
guests. You very rarely see her standing still waiting for something
to happen.!
